Tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew

The quote that was the most meaningful to me was the one by Mr David Cameron. It was meaningful as it symbolised the independent character and spirit of Singapore that Mr Lee Kuan Yew had set. When he was studying in Britain, the British treated him as if he were their subject, so when he came back to Singapore, he made it one of his goals to make sure that other countries would treat Singapore as equals, as he viewed everyone as equal human beings. The quote also shows his forward thinking. He had a vision for Singapore and managed to bring Singapore from a third world country to a first world country within a matter of 50 years, an incredible feat for such a small nation whose only main resource is manpower. The quote also shows how he was straight to the point in his speeches, not masking his motives or beating around the bush, however he still managed to retain his ability of being persuasive and yet sharp whenever he spoke.
